Figurines

In the year 2001 I participated in an encounter between artists and archeologists in kibbutz Shaar ha Golan.
The attempt to revive those long forgotten dead from their thousands and thousands years of sleep, giving life to tiny pieces of clay and adoring those figurines so proud of their being, of their bodies, of their presence touched me deeply. This is the source of the figurine paintings.
With a distorted mirror I tried to give my own body some of the confidence, of the entity, of the self loving feeling which I encountered in the figurines.
